Why Do Wrinkles Form, and How Can Treatment Help?
Many expression lines develop as we use our facial muscles to smile, laugh, frown or squint. When we’re younger, the skin tends to bounce back after each expression. Over time, changes in collagen and elasticity, along with factors such as sun exposure, can make these lines more noticeable, even when the face is relaxed.
Anti-wrinkle injections, also called wrinkle relaxers, temporarily reduce activity in selected muscles. This can soften the appearance of lines caused by repeated movement.
They don’t add volume or treat every cause of a wrinkle. Lines that remain visible at rest may respond differently from those that mainly appear with expression. Understanding that difference helps us plan treatment and set realistic expectations.
Which Areas Can Be Treated?
Common treatment areas include:

Frown lines: The vertical lines between the eyebrows.

I look at the surrounding facial movement as well as the individual lines. The amount and placement of treatment are tailored to your features, rather than using the same approach for everyone.
If your main concern is a change in facial volume, dermal fillers work differently and may be another option to discuss.
What Results Can I Expect?
The aim is to soften expression lines with a result that suits your face. The degree of movement reduction depends on your treatment plan and individual response.
Changes usually begin to appear within 3–5 days, with the full effect assessed around two weeks. Results often last approximately 3–4 months and wear off gradually.
Anti-wrinkle treatment has its limits. It won’t replace lost volume or address every change in skin texture, hydration or firmness. Depending on your skin and goals, a different treatment may be more suitable.
Is Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Right for Me?
Treatment may be an option for adults looking to soften lines associated with facial movement. Suitability depends on your health, medical history, medicines and previous treatments, as well as the result you’re hoping for.
Please mention pregnancy, breastfeeding, any muscle or nerve conditions, and any infection near the proposed treatment area. These may affect whether treatment is appropriate.

What to Expect From Your Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Every treatment begins with a personal assessment. We’ll discuss the areas you’re considering, your preferences, the potential benefits and risks, and the cost.
If you choose to proceed:

The injections usually take around 10–15 minutes, following assessment.

Small injections are placed in the agreed areas using a fine needle.

You may feel brief stinging or discomfort.

Redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur afterwards.
Many people return to their usual daily activities after the appointment, following their aftercare instructions. If you have a special occasion coming up, allow time for any visible effects to settle.

The cost depends on the areas being treated and the amount required.
Prices currently range from $200–$400 per area, with the full cost confirmed during your consultation.
We’ll discuss the recommended plan so you know what is involved before deciding whether to proceed.
Safety & Side Effects
It’s natural to have questions about safety. Anti-wrinkle treatments are one of the most widely used cosmetic procedures worldwide, and when performed by a trained cosmetic nurse, they are considered very safe.
Every treatment is carried out by me personally in a professional, clinical environment.
Possible side effects include:

Redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at injection sites.

Headache.

Unwanted muscle weakness or uneven movement.

A drooping eyelid or eyebrow.
Rare serious reactions can occur. Difficulty breathing, speaking or swallowing, or signs of a severe allergic reaction require urgent medical attention.
