Tear Trough Filler Before & After Treatment Who Is (and Isn’t) a Good Candidate for Tear Trough Filler? ✅  Tear Trough Filler May Be Right for You If: ✔ You have deep-set under-eye hollows (not just pigmentation). ✔ Your dark circles are caused by volume loss, not excess pigmentation. ✔ You do not experience chronic puffiness or fluid retention under the eyes. ✔ You have good skin elasticity. ❌  You May Want to Avoid It If: 🚫 You frequently wake up with under-eye puffiness - this can worsen with filler. 🚫 Your dark circles are mostly due to hyperpigmentation, as filler won’t correct discolouration. 🚫 You have very thin or crepey skin, which can make the filler visible under the skin. 🚫 You are prone to swelling or fluid retention, as filler can draw in water and exacerbate puffiness. Here are the two most common concerns: 1) Swelling and Puffiness Hyaluronic acid fillers attract water, which can cause prolonged swelling under the eyes. If swelling doesn’t resolve naturally, the filler may need to be dissolved. 2) The Tyndall Effect If filler is injected too superficially, it can create a bluish tint under the skin. This occurs when light reflects off the filler particles, making dark circles appear worse. To minimise risks, it’s crucial to choose an experienced injector  who specialises in tear trough treatments. Why Cheek Filler Might Be a Better Option for Dark Circles In some cases,  cheek filler  can be more effective than tear trough filler. Why? ✔  It lifts the mid-face, reducing the appearance of under-eye hollows. ✔   It avoids the risks of swelling that can occur with direct under-eye injections. ✔   It provides a more natural rejuvenation, as volume loss in the cheeks often contributes to tired-looking eyes. If your under-eye concerns stem from sagging cheeks rather than true tear trough hollowing, cheek filler may be the safer and more effective choice.
